Tips for Prom Makeup

  • Don’t stress, the last thing you want are pimples. If you stress and get pimples it will only make you stress out more. Tip: Try not to touch your face too much because the germs and bacteria on your hands will make pimples worse.

  • Use the week before prom to treat any acne.

  • You can also use the week before to whiten your teeth if you want them pretty for pictures.

  • Don’t get your eyebrows done the day of prom because you will more than likely have redness and swelling, so take care of that 1-2 days before prom.
  • Make sure you wash your face before you apply your makeup (this also goes if you are having someone else do your makeup)
  •  You don’t want a shinny face so make sure you use powder (not too much though)
  • Wear a little more makeup than usual because you will be taking lots of pictures and dancing the night away the last thing you want to worry about is your makeup.
  •  To help your makeup last longer you might want to use a primer and if you don’t have money (like me) you can make your own. I’ll tell you how at the end.
  •  If you are going to use false lashes try to make them look natural and not too out there. (unless that’s your style)
  • Make sure your foundation is the right color.
  • Make sure to blend your foundation really well, you don’t want to be able to see where your makeup stops.
Face primer:
2 tbsp aloe vera gel
2 tbsp moisturizer
1 tbsp foundation (optional)
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl, make sure there are no lumps. Once that’s done you can put it in an air tight jar so it wont dry out.
With this primer a little goes along way. Put it all over your clean face and wait for it to dry before you put anything else on.
* I said foundation is optional because I don’t put foundation in mine since I would just add more after the primer is dry.
